Siemens NX InstallationThe following instructions are specific to Windows1) Download software and unzip or unpack it
2) If you are off campus or using UCI Wi-Fi then connect to Campus VPN
a. If you are using Ethernet on campus, then you don’t need VPN 3) Click on Launch.exe inside the installation folder. 4) Select Install NX 5) After installation use the “Licensing Tool” to enter the license server. This is usually under Windows Start Menu - Siemens NX - Licensing Tool Check the "Environment Settings" License server: 28000@license-siemens.eng.uci.edu 6) Check the Bundle settings - you can select two bundles at a time but all are included with our license. 6) IMPORTANT: Open NX and select bundles. Go to File - Utilities - Bundle Settings Siemens StarCCM+ InstallationThe following instructions are specific to Windows1) Download StarCCM+ and unzip it.

3) Before installation, create a System Environment variable.
a. Right Click on “My Computer” or “This PC” select Properties.
b. Select Advanced System Settings
c. Click the Advanced Tab, then Environment Variables.
d. Under System Variables, Click New and type the following for Variable Name & Value
7) Right Click and select "Run as Administrator" on the the following installer located in the unzipped StarCCM+ folder: a. STAR-CCM+_CadClients15.04.010_01_win64_intel18.3vc14.bat 8) Choose Advanced Installation 9) Next 10) For Components use this; 11) Additional components to install, start
with this. At minimum select STAR-NX client.
12) Choose Configure this machine to access a network license server 13) Input license server:
14) Choose additional tasks to install here: 15) Complete Installation 16) Run a process to test connection to license server. IMPORTANT: If a different license server shows up, click the Power-on Demand and Power session checkboxes, edit the server name, then uncheck the boxes. Continue to run a process.

complete the following steps BEFORE attending NX training at the
Engineering Student Conference. The trainers will be unable to assist
with installation issues at the conference. STEP 1: Please go to the links above to obtain the installation files for STAR-CCM+
and NX. STEP 2: We require that you
install and test the software by opening a new file before the session since
Siemens will not have time to troubleshoot licensing issues during the
session. STEP 3: Please self-register for NX E-Learning using instructions (How to self-register for a Learning Advantage Membership) STEP 4: We
also require that if you plan to
attend the NX session that you have a basic understanding of the software. Please complete the first e-learning sections up through the sections showing
